Custom Track-to-Track WorldCat Enclosure: Engineered for Clarity and Comfort

When you own a capable offshore vessel like a WorldCat powered catamaran, you don't want a little wind or rain keeping you at the dock. Our latest project at Robie Marine was designed to give one local captain total weather protection while maintaining pristine visibility at the helm.

We just wrapped up a custom, track-to-track full enclosure that transforms this open catamaran into an all-weather cruising machine.

The Engineering Behind the Build

A great marine enclosure requires a balance between structural rigidity and everyday usability. To achieve this, we utilized a combination of the highest-rated materials on the market today:

• Rigid Makrolon Polycarbonate (Front Windows): For the critical front windshield area, we chose Makrolon. Unlike traditional flexible vinyl, Makrolon is a rigid polycarbonate that offers flawless, glass-like clarity. It doesn't wrinkle, distort, or bow in heavy winds, ensuring the captain always has a perfect view of the water ahead.

• Midnight Blue Sunbrella Canvas: To match the boat’s sleek lines and trim, we stitched a custom track-to-track border using premium Sunbrella canvas in a rich Midnight Blue.

• .040 Strataglass (Side & Aft Windows): For the side and rear panels, we utilized premium .040 Strataglass. This provides spectacular optical clarity around the rest of the cockpit while maintaining the essential flexibility needed to roll the windows up on beautiful, sunny days.

Track-to-Track: A Flawless Seal

By utilizing a track-to-track design, we eliminated the common gaps found in universal or loose-fitting enclosures. The canvas slides directly into the boat's hardtop and windshield structures, creating a windproof, drum-tight seal. This design prevents water tracking, stops highway and high-speed flapping, and maximizes the interior living space of the boat.

Whether heading out for an early morning run or making a rough heading back home, this WorldCat is ready to keep its crew high, dry, and comfortable.
