Blustery day to pattern a large fly bridge cruiser.

Getting a large bridge cruiser ready for a double bimini setup, full enclosure and connector bridging the two bimini tops. It was a 45mph gusting day in Newburyport Yacht Club for us but we got the job done with our proliner. And we have a CAD preview to show as well.

Solar Panels on your boat

Here we demonstrate a mocked up version of a solar panel mount onto a bimini top. This method ensures the solar panel can’t fall off and that wind won’t catch under the solar panel. Stop in to see what we can do for your charging needs next summer.

Want a new look to your old cushions?

Robie can design and sew any customer chosen pattern using our CAD software tools. We design the pattern in CAD and print the design in erasable ink on the vinyl to be able to sew the desired look. This customer chose a contrasting thread color on a square pattern.

New cushion design concepts can be done for your boat.

Bimini Top Patterning

Patterning a new bimini top using the Prodim Proliner. After patterning, we import the raw 3D file into Rhinocad for post processing and design of the bimini.

Patterning a Seat Cover

What a beautiful day out on the Cape in Harwich, MA. Patterning for a new seat cover to keep the soon to be new cushions out of the weather. Robie Canvas uses only the best marine grade fabrics for our seat covers and canvas bimini tops. We also only use SolarFix thread so that the damaging UV rays don’t cause thread breakage and splitting of seams before the life of the fabric.

Taking the time to pattern a seat cover.

Final pattern steps to show the floor of the boat in our 3D CAD model as a reference point.

A full day of 3D digitizing patterns

We had a full day in Portsmouth, Newport, and Webster Mass patterning a bow cover, many seat covers and a table cover. The Prodim Proliner is what we use for our 3D pattern work and it’s worked quite well over the past several years.

How to clean Sunbrella

How to Clean Sunbrella Fabric:

One of the best ways to keep Sunbrella fabric looking their best is to brush off dirt before it becomes embedded in the fabrics and wipe up spills or clean soon after the stain occurs. Remember – the quicker you clean spills and stains, the easier they can be to remove. According to Sunbrella, 98% of stains can easily be removed by spraying on a cleaning solution of water and mild soap directly to the stain and using a soft bristle brush to clean. Yes, it is that simple! For those remaining 2% of stubborn stains, try using a diluted bleach/soap mixture and spot clean.

Another common concern is mold and mildew growth on outdoor cushions. Even though Sunbrella fabrics are known to not promote mildew growth, it still may grow on dirt or other foreign substances that are not removed from the fabric. This is where bleach is involved! Don’t be intimated by this, if you follow these steps you won’t have to worry:

  1. Prepare a solution of 1 cup of bleach and ¼ cup mild soap per gallon of water

  2. Spray on entire area and allow to soak into the fabric for 15 minutes

  3. Clean entire surface area with a sponge, clean towel or very soft bristle brush

  4. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue

  5. Air dry
