Frequently Asked Questions
How long do marine cushions typically last?
With proper care, marine cushions made with quality materials should last 7-10 years or more. The marine-grade vinyls and fabrics we use are specifically designed to resist fading, mildew, and UV damage.
Can you match my existing cushion colors?
UV exposure and saltwater significantly fade fabrics over time, so new material won't match aged originals exactly. We provide access to hundreds of marine vinyl and fabric colors for you to choose from. You can select the closest match to your existing colors or design a completely new color scheme for your boat.
What's the difference between open-cell and closed-cell foam?
Closed-cell foam resists water absorption and is ideal for cabin cushions. Open-cell "Dryfast" foam allows water to drain through and is better for cockpit cushions that may get wet. We'll recommend the right foam type for your application.
Do I need to remove my old cushions before you pattern?
Not necessarily. We can pattern directly on your boat's surfaces. However, if you're replacing existing cushions, we can also use them as templates if they fit well.
How much do custom marine cushions cost?
Pricing varies based on size, complexity, materials, and foam type. Contact us for a detailed quote specific to your boat and requirements. We provide transparent pricing with no hidden fees.
Can you repair or recover my existing cushions?
Yes, but we recommend replacing the foam at the same time. Even foam that looks good has likely degraded internally, losing its supportive structure. Recovering cushions with old foam often results in poor fit, indentations, and uncomfortable seating as the foam continues to break down. New marine-grade foam ensures your recovered cushions will look great, fit properly, and provide lasting comfort—making it a better long-term investment.
